Job description 

• Providing administrative support to senior researchers;
• Liaising with GSE faculty members, partner organisations, Ministry of Education and Science;
• Contributing to fieldwork, data collection and empirical data analysis, in national and international teams; 
• Conducting literature reviews and reviews of relevant policy and curriculum documents independently;  
• Knowledge and mastering research ethics
• Presenting at national and international research conferences; 
• Publishing scholarly papers in peer-reviewed journals;
• Assisting with identification of sources of research funding and writing of grant applications;
• Actively demonstrating research ethics;
• Engaging in own professional and academic development;
• Carrying out any other duties required by the post.

Qualifications:

Master’s degree in social sciences

Professional experience 

At least a 2-year professional experience in education-related  organisations. At least 2 peer-reviewed journal articles or equivalent publication.

Professional knowledge, skills and personal qualities 

Competencies in the following fields are preferable: qualitative and quantitative methods of research, educational statistics.

Personal qualities: communication skills, public presentation skills, skills of presenting research results in oral and written form, skills of treating classified information. Proven ability to work effectively both independently and in a team.

Language competencies:

High level of competence in Kazakh, Russian and English. English competence – equivalent to European CEFR level solid B2, IELTS 6.5, paper-based TOEFL 550-575 or TOEFL iBT 90-95.

Computer literacy

A high level of computer literacy (Microsoft Office), some experience of working with research software, e.g.  SPSS, Stata, NVivo, is desirable.
