Professional Biography

Laila Abdimanapova  is a junior researcher in Research Institute Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education.  She is currently assisting U-Cam led research project on the school reform in Kazakhstan. Prior to working for NUGSE, Laila was a teacher trainer at the Astana City Branch of Joint Stock Company “Orleu” National Center of Professional Development, an in-service teacher training institute. She conducted professional development courses on using CLIL approach and renewal secondary education curriculum for the mainstream school English language teachers.  

 

Research Interests and Current Projects

Laila’s research interest includes multilingual education, school reforms and issues related to implementing and using CLIL approach. During her Master’s study at NUGSE, she conducted a small scale research on “Motivation of Students to Learn Kazakh in CLIL Approach “as her thesis project.
