Harry Patrinos of the World Bank delivered a lecture at GSE

The GSE hosted a lecture by the manager of the World Bank , Doctor  Harry Patrinos. The well-known expert shared the results of the global measuring human capital project. The project attempts to measure the quality of human capital not only on the basis of the duration of training, but also taking into account harmonized learning outcomes in a revolutionary way.  PISA, TIMSS, PIRLS are the most famous of them. 

Thanks to the participation in international comparative studies throughout Kazakhstan, most of the necessary information is available. High ranking of Kazakhstan in the harmonized learning outcomes in the world - 10th place among 157 countries became an unexpected and pleasant piece of news! At the same time, the position of the Republic in the general Index of human capital corresponds to 31 place. It is important to note that of the 3 components of the index out of 5 contributed the most were related to education and its quality.

The lecture was hosted by the local representative office of the World Bank, the Graduate School of Education of Nazarbayev University in cooperation with the Kazakhstan society of researchers in the field of education. Listen to Dr. G. Not only teachers and students of the University, but also employees of the JSC Information-Analytic Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, AIFC and others came to listen to Dr. G. Patrinos.
