Professional Biography

Having worked in the field for more than 9 years, Yerlan Shulanov has an extensive professional experience in the field of education and human capital development. Prior to joining Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education, Yerlan has worked for five years in the position of Vice-President at the Information-Analytical Center, Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Yerlan has been in charge of administering implementation of more than 30 analytical research projects in the field of education and the development of Kazakhstan’s academic system. This professional experience has equipped Yerlan with deep subject knowledge and expertise in modernization and reform of Kazakhstan’s education system as well as international practice and education trends. Yerlan’s professional interests extend to policy development, operations management, budgeting, project management and strategic planning.
