My name is Moldir Maksutkyzy, and I graduated in 2023 from the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education, specializing in Leadership in Education.
I chose Nazarbayev University for its rigorous academic framework, distinguished international faculty, and research environment, which aligned perfectly with my academic goals and aspirations as an educational leader. The faculty members at NU GSE were deeply committed to our development, providing diverse perspectives that enriched our learning experience. The coursework was demanding, integrating theory with practical applications that challenged us to address real-world educational issues within our own school context.
Campus life was equally impactful, allowing me to connect with like-minded educators and build a supportive network. Case studies, site visits and guest lectures during Management and Leadership in Education courses offered invaluable real-world insights, broadening my understanding of being a true leader.
My studies equipped me with essential tools for effective leadership and team management. Since graduating, I have been part of leadership team to launch two private schools: Riviera International School and Quantum TECH School, applying the skills I gained to create positive educational environments. The most impactful was the faculty's guidance, which instilled confidence in my ability to be an agent of change, motivating me to drive meaningful improvements in my country’s education system.
Overall, my experience was transformative, shaping my professional path and personal growth. As I move forward in my career, I carry with me the lessons learned, the relationships built, and the commitment to being a change-maker in education that I developed during my time at NU GSE.
