In the first half of July, the Graduate School of Education of Nazarbayev University hosted a seminar "Peace Ambassadors" for schoolchildren and teachers from different regions of Kazakhstan.
Seminar participants representing Akmola, Zhambyl, East Kazakhstan, Ulytau and Mangistau regions, as well as the cities of Taraz, Zhezkazgan, Astana, Kokshetau and Aktau studied the topical and important topic "Conflict resolution to maintain and build peaceful schools".
The participants gained the necessary knowledge and discussed various issues on the topic for further work in their schools. Schoolchildren, "Peace Ambassadors”, with the support of their teachers and research team, work together to design and plan actions and strategies for conflict resolution.
After the seminar, the student and teacher will team up in the new school year to implement a small project and/or strategy in their schools on conflict resolution, bullying prevention, and creating a peaceful environment. "The very atmosphere at the seminar was so positive that you already want to do something good and kind," said the participants of the seminar.
The seminar was organized by the CARCEIT Graduate School of Education Research Group on Positive Peace Education with the support of a grant from the Social Development Fund Corporate Fund.
