Michigan State Professor Discusses Responsible AI in Education at NUGSE


On October 24, 2025, the Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education (NUGSE) had the pleasure of hosting an inspiring guest lecture by Prof. Dr. Douglas K. Hartman from Michigan State University titled “How do we equip 100 million teachers worldwide to use GenAI ethically and effectively? An abductive inquiry.”

Prof. Hartman’s talk offered an engaging and thought-provoking exploration of how educators around the world can embrace generative AI responsibly and creatively in their classrooms. The discussion highlighted the growing importance of equipping teachers with the knowledge and ethical awareness needed to integrate AI tools in ways that enhance learning and promote innovation.
