The Republic Pedagogical Council’s meeting took a place at building of the Graduate School of Education

On April 9, 2015, Republic Pedagogical Council (RPC) was held at building of the Graduate School of Education, Nazarbayev University. The council brought together all representatives of pedagogical educational institutions of the country, public educational institutions, as well as international consultants in the field of education reform including Colleen McLaughlin (University of Sussex, UK), Alan Ruby (University of Pennsylvania, USA) and Mary Canning (Higher Education Authority, Ireland). The second meeting of the Republican Teachers Council (the first meeting was held on October 16, 2014) was opened by the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Aslan Sarinzhipov, where the moderator of the meeting was the Director of the Department of Higher and postgraduate education and international cooperation of the MES RK Zhassulan Shaimardanov. During the meeting, the current issues of the modern teacher education in the Republic of Kazakhstan were discussed. In this regard, professor of the University of Sussex Colleen McLaughlin prepared a review of international practice for training of the future teachers for RPC members. Representatives of local pedagogical institutions were Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay Aktolkyn Kulsariyeva who prepared a report on “New approaches to the development of educational programs in terms of updating the content of secondary education”, as well as the Head of the Department of Psychology and Special Education of the Kazakh National Pedagogical University named after Abay Zulfiya Movkebayeva who prepared a report on “Projects of educational programs for group of “Education” specialties” which was developed to meet the requirements of the labor market and society (Defectology, Inclusive Education). After the presentations on each topic, the current issues were discussed by the participants, representatives of the MES RK, pedagogical institutions, secondary education institutions and other educational organizations.
