Report on Issues of Internationalization of Higher Education in Kazakhstan presented at a conference in Bucharest
The second conference on «Future of Higher Education – Bologna Process Researchers’ Conference» held on 24-26 November, 2014 in Bucharest (Romania). This conference was an official event of the European Higher Education Area and undertaken with the support of the Ministry of National Education of Romania and the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding, Romania.
The aim of the conference geared to bring together international experts on higher education issues in the context of learning practical approaches within implementation of the principles of the Bologna Process in European Higher Education Area. Presented reports encompass different aspects of higher education enhancement:
• Financing and Governance;
• Excellence and diversification of higher education institutions’ missions;
• Students’ Involvement/ Teaching and Learning;
• Social dimension;
• Education, Research and Innovation;
• Quality Assurance;
• the impact of the Bologna Process on European Higher Education Area;
• Evidence-based policies in Higher Education.
In the frame of the conference the fellow workers of the Graduate School of Education Nazarbayev University, Aida Sagintayeva and Adil Ashirbekov had presented the report «Becoming Bologna capable: Strategic cooperation and capacity building in International Offices in Kazakhstani HEIs». In the report were underscored preliminary research results on internationalization of higher education in Kazakhstan in the context of development of capabilities of international offices in Kazakhstani universities.
In the conference took part more than 130 participants, including internationally well-known experts in the field of higher education. Among them were Jamil Salmi, Hans de Wit, Sjur Bergan, Jan Sadlak and so forth.
