Professional development course for staff of medical universities has started at NU
A professional development program for state healthcare institutions was started today at Nazarbayev University. Collaboratively developed by four academic institutions – Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education, Nazarbayev University School of Medicine, University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education and Duke University School of Medicine, the Program aims to be developmental and effective.
Top and middle managers as well as faculty members of Kazakhstani universities operating in the fields of medicine and pharmaceuticals will be acquiring cutting-edge knowledge and enhancing their skills that will enable them to build a strong management base in their home universities and ensure a high-quality system of social responsibility and accountability. The learning experience gained on the Program will help participants to strengthen universities’ relationships with state agencies, public and private organizations. These areas are deemed vital for upgrading medical and pharmaceutical universities and their further effective operation in the country.
Program participants represent Kazakh National Medical University, Karaganda State Medical University, West Kazakhstan State Medical University and West Kazakhstan Marat Ospanov State Medical University of Semey.
The training sessions will be held by managers and professors of Nazarbayev University. Representatives of partner universities of Kazakhstan medical universities such as Duke University, Lund University, Poznan University and St. Louis University were also invited to participate in the program.
The Program represents a three-month course with one part of it to be held at Duke University School of Medicine.
