Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education and M.K Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University (Sakha Republic) to discuss prospects for cooperation
On October, 29-30 2015 delegation from M.K. Ammosov North-Eastern Federal University (NEFU), the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), has visited Nazarbayev University. The delegation headed by the Rector Evgeniya Mikhailova included the Vice-Rector for Strategic Development Vasily Savvinov and the Director of the Institute of Continuing Professional Education Olga Chorosova. The visit was a part of series of meetings for establishing cooperation between two universities. During the scientific and educational forum "Education, forward!" organized earlier this year at NEFU CEO of NUGSE Aida Sagintayeva and Director of Research Institute of NUGSE Kairat Kurakbayev have shared their opinions on prospects of closer partnership with their colleagues from the Sakha Republic.
As a result of several meetings of the NEFU delegation with the leadership team of Nazarbayev University it has been agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding. It was also decided to organize an international research project named "Continuing professional education in the contest of contemporary transformations and their impact on the quality of teacher’s life: a comparative aspect (the example of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Republic of Kazakhstan." The goal of the project is to study theoretical and methodological foundations of adult education, including teacher education, in today's constantly changing environment.
Moreover, during the visit NEFU representatives met with administration of AEO "Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools" and its Center of Excellence, where possibilities of future cooperation were also discussed.
