Ahmet Aypay is presently serving as a Professor at Nazarbayev University Graduate School of Education in Kazakhstan. His research focuses on Educational Policy, Educational Leadership and Higher Education. His ongoing research project centers around the exploration of regional universities in Kazakhstan, focusing on factors such as academic development, regional impact, and educational strategies. His academic interests encompass the dynamics of higher education in regional contexts, and he serves as the principal investigator in this research endeavor.
Alper Calikoglu, PhD, is an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Education at Nazarbayev University. He specializes in the internationalization of higher education, the academic profession, and universities' external engagement strategies. His current research focuses on spatial analysis of internationalization models in higher education, aiming to uncover how geographical, cultural, and technological contexts shape internationalization policy and practice. Additionally, he is part of the CARCEIT project 'Strengthening Regional Universities in Kazakhstan' research team, where he contributes to the efforts in developing strategies to improve the regional universities in Kazakhstan.
Diana Kalemeneva is a current Research Assistant at CARCEIT Research Centre. She is a graduate of the Master’s of Science in Educational Leadership from the Graduate School Education at Nazarbayev University. Her master’s thesis focused on measuring the changes in academic performance among students of one selective school system in Kazakhstan due to COVID-19 Pandemic Restrictions. Diana is passionate about data-driven decision-making to ensure evidence-based practice that improves educational outcomes. She is passionate educational researcher who is committed to advocating systemic changes that result in optimizing educational opportunities at the local, state, and national level in Kazakhstan.
